Quechua Night

QuechuaNight_students_101910_sm.jpgQuechua Conversation Night is a monthly gathering focused on the exploration and celebration of Quechua languages and cultures of South America. Our goal is to provide a space for communication between Quechua language learners and Quechua speakers.

This gathering will provide anyone interested in Quechua to use the language through guided dialogues and open conversation. Interested faculty, students, and members of the public are welcome to attend, and can expect to enjoy an evening full of the Quechua language. Native Quechua / Kichwa speakers are encouraged to attend and share in the experience of developing a community of Quechua speakers and appreciators in the New York City area.

While some materials will be provided for use during the event, we encourage you to take advantage of our online Quechua lessons and Quechua podcasts prior to attending. Please join us!

QuechuaNight_DorisLoayza_101910_sm.jpgThe event will include language exercises that will enable beginner-level speakers to engage with the language, and will provide a basis for more developed conversation for advanced and native speakers. There will also be an occasional presentation offered by either a native speaker or a Quechua student.
